Khaira has written a letter to Speaker Rana Kanwarpal in this regard and asked to withdraw his resignation. According to the media report, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, MLA of Bhulath assembly constituency sent his resignation to the Speaker of the Assembly in April before the Lok Sabha elections. He then contested from Bathinda but could not win. Khaira finished fourth.
