The wife of Sarabjit Singh an Indian national who died in a Pakistan jail in 2013, died on Monday. A movie was also made on him. Featuring Randeep Hooda as Sarabjeet, Richa Chadha as his wife and Aishwarya Rai as Sister. This movie highlights the struggle of these three persons in their life.

 As per the police official, Sarabjit’s wife Sukhpreet Kaur was a pillion rider on a two-wheeler when she accidentally fell from it near Fatehpur here. She was taken to a hospital where she breathed her last, they said. Her cremation will take place at her native place Bhikhiwind in Tarn Taran on Tuesday.

Sarabjit Singh had strayed into Paksitan in an inebriated condition in 1,990 and was allegedly implicated in a bomb blast case under the fake identity of one Manjit Singh. His sister late Dalbir Kaur had launched a Save Sarabjit campaign to free her ‘innocent’ brother from Pak jail. A Pakistan court even directed to hang Sarabjit on April 1, 2008, but his execution was put off indefinitely. However, Sarabjit died in Lahore jail on May 1, 2013, after he was attacked by fellow jail inmates.

Sarbjit, a film by Omung Kumar, which starred Richa Chadha as wife of Sarabjit and Darshan Kumaar, was a box office success and received mixed reviews from critics. It was released over three years after Sarabjit died in Lahore after being attacked by his fellow inmates at Kot Lakhpat Jail.Randeep played the role of  Randeep Hooda in the 2016 film Sarbjit, a biographical drama revolving around Sarabjit's sister Dalbir Kaur (played by Aishwarya Rai) 's fight to get justice for him after he was sentenced to death by a Pakistani court for alleged terrorism and spying.
