Indore: Former Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has reacted to false reports of her recent demise. She has expressed displeasure over the sharing of false reports of her demise. In fact, last Thursday night, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor as well as several leaders paid homage to Sumitra Mahajan on Twitter. On the other hand, BJP leaders and others denied the news, after which several leaders deleted their tweets.

Now, amidst all this recently, Sumitra Mahajan said, "How can news channels run the false news of my demise without confirming it to the Indore administration? My niece denied Shashi Tharoor's words on Twitter but what was the hurry to announce his death without confirming it?" In addition to the information received, Ramswarup Mundra, another local aide of Sumitra Mahajan, had posted audio of his phone conversation with him on social media late last Thursday night. It was then revealed that Sumitra Tai was all right.

In the same audio, Tai expressed displeasure over the spread of false news of his demise and said, 'Should people broadcast such news about me without confirming it from the Indore administration?' On the other hand, the BJP leader said in the audio that relatives worried about the wrong news of her demise started calling her. On hearing this, Sumitra Mahajan said, "The news of her demise should also be denied by the Central Government and the present Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Let us also tell all of you that 78-year-old BJP leader Sumitra Mahajan is recuperating in a local hospital. He complained of fever last Wednesday evening on which he was admitted to Bombay Hospital in the city. After her treatment, she no longer has a fever and has been found to be covid-19 negative in the RT-PCR test.
