USA: Twenty years have passed since Google surpassed all other search engines as the most popular worldwide. Alphabet's primary source of revenue, search, accounts for half of all company sales. After years of dominance, it is now facing its greatest threat yet: chatbots that are powered by AI. Google CEO Sundar Pichai intends to integrate conversational AI technology into Google Search in response to this threat.
Google is coping with competition in the search industry, something it is not used to. With ChatGPT and then the new Bing, Microsoft and OpenAI rattled Google's cage. The business quickly responded with Bard.
That, however, did more harm than good. Although Google is far from being overthrown, no obstacle can be dismissed when you're in the lead.

Many people have been arguing that chatbots are a threat to Google, but Pichai disagrees. The opportunity space, if anything, is bigger than before, he claimed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
A feature that Google lacks and users prefer, conversational search has been made possible by chatbots like ChatGPT and Bing Chat.
Why is Pichai not worried? That is as a result of Google's strategy. It has long been one of the top researchers studying large language models (LLM). However, this was never combined with Search by the company.
It appears that will soon change. "Will users be able to interact with LLMs while conducting searches on Google and other search engines? Absolutely, "said Pichai.

Bard is another issue that worries Google. The chatbot's life hasn't gotten off to the best start. It still hasn't stirred up as much excitement as its rival ChatGPT did. Pichai, however, is unconcerned about that. He claimed there would soon be a better Bard during his appearance on the Hard Ford podcast.

Pichai also discussed Microsoft and OpenAI, two of Google's newest competitors. He claimed that the company was taken aback by how well-liked ChatGPT was by the general public. On the other hand, he applauded OpenAI for releasing ChatGPT.
Google has been "incorporating AI in search for a long, long time," according to the Alphabet CEO, in response to Microsoft's challenge in the search market.
