Hyderabad: Sunita Lakshmareddy took over as the chairperson of the state's first women's commission on Friday. State ID for this event, the Minister of Municipal. The Chairperson of the Women's Commission shall continue in office for a term of five years from the date of joining the office.

Sunita's husband Lakshmareddy worked as a member of Shivampeta ZPTC along with Joint Medak District Gomaram Sarpanch. He also served as president of the Medak District Farmer Welfare Association. Sunita's uncle Ramchandra Reddy has been the Shivampeta Sarpanch, MP for 25 years. His successor Sunita entered politics in 1999. In his first attempt as an MLA, he won the Narsapur constituency in 1999. Won three times in a row from the same constituency. He served as the Minister of various departments during the tenure of YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Rosaiah and Kiran Kumar Reddy. Sunita, who is known for being soft and patient, joined the TRS party in 2019.

Apart from them, Shaheen Afroz, Gaddila Padma, Kumra Ishwarbai, Sudam Lakshmi, Umadevi Yadav and Revathi Rao have taken up the post as members of the Women's Commission.
