New Delhi: In the lockdown implemented due to Corona epidemic, a large number of people have migrated to their cities. But the risk of child trafficking and child labour has increased to compensate for the economic loss caused by the lockdown. The top court has sought a report from the government in this regard.

Realising about the danger of child trafficking and child labour, the apex court said that we are the ones who provide them in the cheap child labour market. Also, the Supreme Court of the country asked the government to get data on child trafficking and child labour from the Bachpan Bachao Andolan. The court also asked whether every contractor seeking personal help can be registered and monitored.

Lawyer HS Phoolka said that a large number of girls are being sold. The Bachpan Bachao Andolan has reported child marriages of 136 girls in Bengal. CJI SA Bobde said that we want you to do some homework. Find a way in which if a child is working somewhere, what can be done? He also said that can every contractor doing personal work also be registered somewhere? He said that this is a serious matter because there is a market for child labour. CJI Justice Bobde asked the Solicitor General to find ways to stop this menace.
