New Delhi: The petitions challenging the UGC's decision to conduct the final year examination of the university were heard in the country's highest court till late on Tuesday. The court has reserved the verdict after the hearing. On 30 September, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had set the date for the examination.

In the case of the final year examination of graduation in the apex court, a hearing was held today. During the hearing, the UGC questioned the Maharashtra government's decision. The counsel for the UGC in the apex court said that the state government could not say not to conduct the exam. At the most, the state government can say that the date of examination should be extended. In the court, the lawyer of the UGC accused the Maharashtra government of politics. The UGC argued that the university's deans were called for a meeting by the Maharashtra government in May. In this meeting, it was decided that the students of the first and second year can be passed, but the final exam is necessary.

After this meeting, a petition is filed by the Yuva Sena, headed by the son of the CM of Maharashtra. After the petition of this young army, the thinking of the government also changes and it goes against the examination, while the state government does not have the right to cancel the exam.
