New Delhi: The Modi government has received a major relief from the country's highest court in the Rafale fighter jet deal. A bench headed by the apex court's Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has dismissed all the reconsideration petitions filed in the Rafale case. The apex court, while giving its verdict on the case, has rejected the arguments of the petitioners for disturbances in the deal process.

The apex court has said that we do not think that any FIR should be lodged in this matter or any investigation should be done. The Supreme Court has said that we cannot ignore that a contract is going on in this matter. The Supreme Court's 2018 order in the Rafale fighter jet deal case was filed for reconsideration on behalf of senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan and others. A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice KM Joseph has ruled in the case. This decision of the Supreme Court is considered a big relief for the Modi government because the opposition has always been an attacker on the government regarding the Rafael Deal.
