New Delhi: The Supreme Court has refused to hear BJP MP Subramanian Swamy's petition on non-performing assets (NPA). In fact, Subramanian Swamy had filed a petition in the Supreme court seeking issuance of guidelines on the NPA. Rejecting Swamy's plea, the Supreme Court said that it is a matter of monetary policy and you should place your case before the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The Supreme Court further said that it is a policy matter and the court cannot interfere. This is a matter of jurisdiction of the legislature. The court cannot order the creation of guidelines in the case. The court asked petitioner Subramanian Swamy to submit a memorandum to the RBI in the case. The court has also asked the RBI to consider it. Hearing the case, Justice DY Chandrachud said that ''we can say that RBI looks at your application and make a decision at the policy level, but we cannot constitute a committee.''

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has filed a petition in the Supreme court seeking an inquiry into the role of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) officials in bank scams in recent years.
