New Delhi: The Supreme Court has categorically refused to hear the petition of the Management Committee of the Delhi Waqf Board, in which it challenged the order of the Delhi High Court. In fact, the Delhi High Court had refused to hear further arguments against the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) order banning prayers at the Mughal Mosque located in the Qutub Minar.

According to media reports, now even the Supreme Court has refused to hear the Waqf Board's petition. The Supreme Court bench of Justice Krishna Murari and Justice CT Ravikumar took this decision after considering the Waqf's petition against the March 7 order of the High Court. The court, in its April 5 order, said that it finds no reasonable ground to interfere in the matter already pending before the High Court. Therefore, the special leave petition is dismissed.

With this, the Court said that, considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we urge the High Court to hear the pending matter and decide it on merits as soon as possible, in accordance with law.
