New Delhi: The co-founder of controversial website AltNews, Mohammed Zubair, has gotten relief from the Supreme Court. The court extended the interim bail of Mohammed Zubair till further orders. Zubair's plea will now be heard on September 7. The court has granted four weeks' time to the Uttar Pradesh government to respond to Zubair's plea.

Let us know that Zubair has got this relief only in the Sitapur case. In such a situation, the rest of the proceedings against Zubair are going on in the lower courts, so it will not make any difference to the case of Lakhimpur and Delhi. It may be recalled that Mohammed Zubair was arrested by the Delhi Police on June 27 for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. Additional Solicitor General SV, appearing for the UP government, presented the case before the bench of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice AS Bopanna. He said that he wants to file an affidavit against the petition filed by Mohammad Zubair for quashing the FIR registered in Sitapur.

Following this, the court listed the petition of Mohammed Zubair for a final hearing on September 7 and asked the Uttar Pradesh government to file its reply within four weeks. On July 8, a vacation bench of the Supreme Court granted five-day interim bail to Zubair in the case.
