New Delhi: During the hearing held on Friday regarding Delhi-NCR air pollution, the top court has allowed the Delhi government to continue construction works in hospitals. The Delhi government had today filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court seeking permission for construction activities of hospitals in the city. The next hearing in the case will be held on December 10.

The Delhi government said that it had started improving the infrastructure of its hospitals to prepare and withstand the possible third wave of coronavirus and construction of 7 new hospitals was also in place, but work has stopped due to the ban on construction works. At the same time, 19 government hospitals are being functioning to provide better health infrastructure in the capital for the benefit of patients.

The Central Government has told the apex court that a flying squad constituted by the Air Quality Management Commission has been constituted to monitor compliance with its directions to control air pollution in Delhi-NCR. On the other hand, the apex court said that we have seen, I don't know if it is intentional or not, but some sections of the media try to show that we are villains and we want to close schools. The Delhi government had said that we are closing schools and starting work from home but look at today's newspaper. Working from the big house and the children are going to school in the morning mist. The Delhi government has closed schools from today following a supreme court reprimand.
