New Delhi: The apex court has granted bail to a 77-year-old man jailed for raping a minor girl. The court granted this petition after it was proved that he was not the father of the victim's child. The family of the 14-year-old girl had accused her elderly landlord of raping the girl, on the charge of which the elder was in jail for the past few months.

The case is from Siliguri in West Bengal, where a 77-year-old elderly man is accused of raping his minor girl by a family of his rented house. After which the accused pleaded in the apex court and demanded justice. In the court, the accused said that he is being implicated in a false case. Kapil Sibal, the lawyer for the accused in the case, told the court that the man is 84 years old and he is sexually and biologically incapable of sexual activity, especially in view of the many diseases he suffers from.

Therefore, the lawyer insisted from the court that the DNA test should be done as soon as possible. After the court's approval, when the test report came on Monday, these allegations of rape turned out to be baseless, after which the court granted bail to the jailed elder since May 12. Let us tell you that before the Kolkata High Court on June 5, the bail plea of the accused was rejected in view of the seriousness of the crime. During this time, the accused had claimed in court that the 14-year-old girl and her family are tenants, and they were in dispute over the payment of rent, due to which they had made false allegations.
