New Delhi: As soon as the Supreme Court begins hearing on the National Citizenship Register (NRC) issue on the first working day of the year, the Chief Justice's bench has issued a notice on the Facebook post of NRC Coordinator Hitesh Dev Sarma concerning people excluded from the NRC. On Monday, the apex court issued a notice to NRC coordinator Hitesh Dev Sarma asking him to clarify on his Facebook post.

The court has issued a notice to the Central and Assam governments to clarify their position on the status of the people excluded from NRC and the statement of the coordinator.
