New Delhi: The apex court gave an important verdict on the migrant workers on Tuesday. In its judgment, the Supreme Court has said, "Migrants should be sent back in 15 days." A scheme should be prepared to give jobs to migrants. The data should be examined to provide employment. A plan should be set for the identification of migrants. Skills of labours should be examined so so that it will be easy to determine who is efficient for which work. The court said that all complaints and lawsuits against migrants should be withdrawn.
The apex court has issued guidelines for the central and states "Sending workers, registration, and their employment arrangements". A bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan, Justice SK Kaul and Justice MR Shah pronounced the order. The apex court said, "All the migrants should be sent back in 15 days." Counselling centres should be set up for migrant workers. The apex court has asked for affidavits from other states. The court has said that the state governments should send the remaining workers to their villages in 15 days. Workers train should be run more so that they get the train within 24 hours of applying for the journey.
The top court ordered the withdrawal of all police complaints against migrant workers who have been lodged for violating lockdown norms while trying to return home from their workplaces. The apex court asked the Center / States and Union Territories to identify migrant labourers who want to go home from their workplace and make arrangements for their visit. The apex court said, "The process of transport of all the remaining migrant workers should be completed in 15 days".
