Section 370: Supreme court order to the central government, says, 'file answer in 4 weeks'

New Delhi: The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday, heard the petitions filed against the decision of the Central Government on Article 370 of the Constitution giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir. During the hearing on Tuesday, the apex court gave the Central Government an extension of 28 days to answer all the petitions. Now the next hearing of this case will be held on 14 November.

With this, no new petition related to this issue will be filed in the Supreme Court. It is noteworthy that Jammu and Kashmir will become a union territory on 31 October and Ladakh will also be established as a separate union territory. Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi had referred the matter to a bench headed by Justice Ramanna. The Constitution Bench headed by Justice Ramanna consists of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, Justice R Subhash Reddy, Justice BR Gavai and Justice Suryakant.

Earlier, during the hearing, ML Sharma wanted to say his case, Justice SK Kaul said that you have nothing to do with this, the earliest petition to be filed does not mean that you will be heard. During this, Justice Ramanna said that the centre-state should be given some time now.
