Supreme court reprimands Punjab government for Delhi pollution, warns officers to take immediate action

New Delhi: The strict attitude of the apex court on the stifling atmosphere that has caused pollution in Delhi NCR continues. A bench of Justices Arun Mishra and Justice Deepak Gupta, on Wednesday, reprimanded the governments while hearing. The court asked if you would leave people to die from pollution? Are you taking this country back a hundred years? Expressing displeasure over the officials, the apex court even warned them to take immediate action.

The Supreme Court also lashed out at the Punjab government for not performing its duty. The court told the Punjab government that "you have failed miserably in fulfilling your duty". While giving the order, Justice Mishra said that it should be ensured that no more stubble is burnt. On the Chief Secretary of Punjab, Justice Mishra was so angry that he immediately warned him to suspend. Justice Arun Mishra said that everyone is aware that straw is being burnt this year too.
