New Delhi: The top court has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the person who filed a petition against Farooq Abdullah, former Jammu, and Kashmir CM and National Conference (NC) for commenting on Section 370. According to the information, a person named Rajat Sharma while filing a petition in the Supreme Court had said that Farooq Abdullah had made objectionable remarks on the removal of Section 370. They are getting help from China and Pakistan. Therefore, a case of treason should be run against them.

After this, the apex court dismissed the petition and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Rajat Sharma for wasting the court's time. The court said that it is not treason to raise objections and oppose any policy. The petitioners could not prove how Farooq Abdullah is getting help from China and Pakistan. The former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah had said that the tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in East Ladakh is the result of the removal of Section 370.

Abdullah said that China has always opposed it and its aggressive stance on the border is due to this wrong move of the Modi government. At the same time, clarifying his statement, the National Conference spokesman had said that 'Our leader never said that Article 370 will be restored with the help of China, which was claimed by BJP leader Shambit Patra at a press conference. He also presented some earlier statements of Mr. Farooq Abdullah in a wrong manner."
