New Delhi: The Supreme Court has reprimanded the lawyer for asking for a concession of time to pay the rent of the property. In this case, the court has refused permission to pay the rent late. The apex court said that the last time it was sought for three months for delayed payment of rent and this time again the demand raised in the Supreme Court for exemption in rent payment. The top court lashed out, saying that the corona crisis could not be used repeatedly to avoid paying rent on time.

Earlier, when there was a lockdown in the entire country regarding Corona, during this time, the Supreme Court Bar Association and Supreme Court Advocate on Record Association demanded that the employment of lawyers has come to a standstill due to the lockdown. In this situation, there is absolutely no income. Most lawyers are having difficulty to meet the end, so in view of this financial crunch of the lawyers, the lawyers should be given a concession to pay their office rent and the chamber rent, but the top court rejected the demand of the lawyers the petition was dismissed.

Similarly, the Delhi High Court had also rejected the plea for concession in paying rent in the name of corona epidemic and the lawyer who filed the petition has also been fined.
