New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Mamata government in West Bengal to immediately implement the 'One Nation-One Ration Card' scheme without any hesitation. The court said you cannot cite one problem after another. This scheme is for migrant labourers. At the same time, the supreme court has reserved its verdict on the issues faced by migrants during lockdown and the registration process of unorganized labourers so that they can register and avail benefits of various government schemes.

According to media reports, the counsel appearing for the Bengal government said that the scheme has not been implemented due to Aadhaar card problems. On this, the Supreme court said that it (West Bengal government) will have to implement the Central Government's 'One Nation-One Ration Card' scheme. "There will be no excuse," Justice MR Shah said. When all the States have implemented it, what is the problem for West Bengal? In any case, this scheme should be implemented. In view of the court's tough stand, the west bengal government counsel has agreed to it.

The Supreme court has recently summoned the Mamata government over another case. Last Tuesday, the Supreme court had slapped the state government in its verdict on orphaned children after March 2020. The Supreme Court had said, "All the States have systematically uploaded the information in keeping with its order, but there is only one West Bengal Government which has not yet understood this order".
