NEW DELHI: The country's top court will give its verdict against criminal defamation lawyer Prashant Bhushan who is guilty in the contempt case on Monday. In the last hearing, Prashant Bhushan refused to apologize in the apex court. After which the court had asked Bhushan's lawyer Rajiv Dhawan that 'you tell me, what punishment should be given to your client?'

Educational institutions will start from this day

It is noteworthy that in the contempt case hearing on Tuesday, the top court reserved the verdict on the sentence. The court sought advice from the Attorney General on the issue of conviction of accused Prashant Bhushan. The Attorney General had said that Bhushan's tweet was to show that the judiciary should improve itself. Therefore Bhushan should be forgiven. At the same time, Bhushan's lawyer Rajiv Dhawan told the court not to punish Prashant Bhushan and make him a 'martyr'.

New rules issued in Jammu regarding police system

Dhawan has argued that when Kalyan Singh was sentenced to jail in the Babri Masjid demolition case, he expressed happiness over it and after that his popularity increased. After listening to all the parties, the apex court remarked that Prashant Bhushan had made several derogatory remarks against the judges of this court. Even in the Ayodhya case, he made wrong comments. Only one judge related to that case has retired, the rest are still in this court.
