New Delhi: Several petitions have been filed in the apex court against the ban on Puri Rath Yatra due to coronary virus, a global epidemic. On March 18, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, SA Bobde, while hearing in this case, said that even if Rath Yatra is allowed in this condition, even God will not forgive. The history of Rath Yatra in Odisha is centuries old. According to historian Asit Mohanty, according to historical evidence, the rath yatra started from the 13th century. Rath Yatra has never been canceled in the last 284 years.

Meanwhile, in view of public sentiments, the Odisha government has said that it will take action in this matter according to the sentiments of the people. After the ban on this rath yatra on Thursday, the Patnaik government of the state is under pressure from many organizations to take appropriate legal action in the apex court to start the rath yatra.
