New Delhi: Several petitions have been filed in the apex court against the ban on Puri Rath Yatra due to coronary virus, a global epidemic. The single bench of the apex court will hear the matter today. Let us tell you that on March 18, the annual Puri Rath Yatra was banned by the Supreme Court. The petition filed against this order of the apex court has appealed to the court to reconsider its order.

On March 18, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, SA Bobde, while hearing in this case, said that even if Rath Yatra is allowed in this condition, even God will not forgive. The history of Rath Yatra in Odisha is centuries old. According to historian Asit Mohanty, according to historical evidence, the rath yatra started from the 13th century. Rath Yatra has never been canceled in the last 284 years.

Meanwhile, in view of public sentiments, the Odisha government has said that it will take action in this matter according to the sentiments of the people. After the ban on this rath yatra on Thursday, the Patnaik government of the state is under pressure from many organizations to take appropriate legal action in the apex court to start the rath yatra. Let me tell you that now there is only a few hours left for the rath yatra to begin. According to Muhurta, the chariot journey is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 23 June.
