New Delhi: The top court has asked the University Grants Commission (UGC) to respond to the petitions challenging the final year examination in universities across the country. The next hearing of the case will be held on Friday, 31 July. In the petitions, it has been requested not to conduct the examination in view of the health of the students.
The petitions filed in the apex court have challenged the UGC guidelines issued on 6 July asking all universities in the country to conduct final year examinations before 30 September. Petitions have been filed by 31 students from various universities of the country including Praneeth, Yash Dubey, a student of law, Aditya Thackeray, leader of Yuva Sena, Shiv Sena's youth wing and student Krishna Waghmare.
These petitions have been demanding that the Supreme Court ordered the release of the results based on the average of the examination and internal assessment conducted so far in the CBSE case, citing the Corona epidemic spreading in the country. This should also be done in this case. However, the Supreme Court is still considering the matter, it is believed that a decision may come in this case on 31 July.
