New Delhi: The hearing in the apex court on the petition of foreigners involved in the Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin, Delhi has been postponed till July 24. The government said that by then, there will be complete clarity on the status of these people. Foreign Jamaatis have also sought permission from the court to return to their country. In the last hearing, the government had said that cases are registered on them in many states.

During the hearing on 29 June, the court told the Central Government during the hearing on the petition filed against the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs to blacklist 3460 foreign nationals due to their involvement in the activities of Tablighi Jamaat. The government has not received a copy of the petition. During the hearing, the court was told on behalf of the petitioners that no official order has been passed by the government regarding the cancellation or blacklisting of visas.

He has said that only a press release has been issued and his passports have been confiscated. Even when the petition of some people on the demand for bail was heard in the High Court, at that time no such order was presented by the government.
