The Supreme Court on Tuesday gave a big verdict in the Gyanvapi case of Kashi. The Supreme Court has also given approval to clean the water tank (Vujukhana) present in the mosque premises. It is noteworthy that the Hindu side had also claimed to have a Shivalinga in the same Vajukhana. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra gave this order on the petition of a woman. In fact, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court demanding permission to worship God in the mosque premises. Also, a demand was made to clean the water tank because there were dead fishes in that tank. This petition has not been opposed yet by the Mosque Management Committee.

Cleaning will be done under the supervision of the District Collector: Reports say that the Supreme Court bench has said in its order that the cleaning of the tank is also going to be done under the supervision of the District Collector of Varanasi. Additional Solicitor General Madhavi Divan had come to the hearing on behalf of the UP Government. He had also appealed to the government to clean the water tank. Senior lawyer Huzaifa Ahmadi appeared on behalf of the Mosque Committee. The Supreme Court noted that the Anjuman Arrangement Committee of the mosque had also filed a petition in the trial court of Varanasi demanding cleaning of the washroom.

Let us tell you that in May 2022, the Supreme Court has also issued orders to seal the Vujukhana after the claim of finding Shivalinga in the Vujukhana of the mosque. However, the Supreme Court has also given permission to the Muslim side to continue the prayers. Last year, on the demand of the Hindu side, the Supreme Court has given permission to the Archeology Department to survey the mosque complex. In the same survey, a Shivalinga-like shape was found in the bathroom of the mosque complex. Which the Hindu side claimed to have a Shivalinga.
