The first solar eclipse of this year is going to happen on 21st June i.e. next Sunday. In this case, the solar eclipse this time is going to be special. It will be a circular eclipse and the sun will look like a bright ring. Today we are going to tell you about its mythological aspect. There is a mythological relation between Samudra Manthan and solar eclipse. The solar eclipse is related to Rahu-Ketu planet. It is said that Rahu and Ketu planets have enmity with the Sun and the Moon, because of this it is advisable not to do any work during the eclipse period.

When the demons were trying to rule the three worlds, the gods sought help from Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu was called to protect the three worlds from demons. Then Lord Vishnu asked the gods to do Samudra Manthan and asked them to drink the poison that came out of this Manthan. Lord Vishnu cautioned the gods not let the demons drink Amrit because then they will never be defeated in battle. It is said that the Gods churned the ocean in the Ksheer Sea. There was a fight between the gods and the Asuras over Amrit.

Then Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini and placed the deity on one side and the Asuras on one side and said that in turn, everyone will get Amrit. Hearing this, one of the demons sat down among the gods, but Chandra and Surya recognized him and informed Lord Vishnu, but by then the Lord had given him Amrit. Amrit reached his throat and Lord Vishnu slit his neck from his body with his Sudarshan Chakra, but by then he did Amritpan. However, Amrit did not descend from his neck, but his head became immortal. The head became Rahu and lower body became immortal as Ketu. Rahu and Ketu became hostile to the Moon and the Sun because of this. Rahu and Ketu have got a place under the moon and the shadow of the earth and from that time on, Rahu has a feeling of hatred with the Sun and the Moon, which leads to an eclipse.
