Connecting with an extended neighbor and a close friend EAM Sushma Swaraj and Kyrgyzstan Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev met on sidelines of SCO Foreign Ministers Meeting in Beijing. In the talks discussion about cooperation in trade & investment, IT, defence, films, HRD, culture & other areas were focused.

EAM Sushma Swaraj concluded her Press Statement wishing Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi all success for SCO Foreign Ministers Meeting on 24th April.

EAM Sushma Swaraj asserted at the delegation level talks that India conveyed the appreciation to the Chinese side for their confirmation on the resumption of data sharing on Brahmaputra and Sutlej rivers in 2018.

 Earlier External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday met her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi to talk about bilateral ties and step up the pace of high-level interactions to perk up the relationship.

Swaraj landed in Beijing on a four-day visit to participate in the foreign ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

This was their first dialogue after Wang Yi was elevated as state councillor last month. After elevating councillor Wang has become the top diplomat of the country in the Chinese hierarchy and he also continues to be foreign minister.

Following the Dokalam standoff last year India-China augmented dialogue to scale down stress and develop relations with talks at various levels.
