Guwahati: Suspended MLA has got bail in the Chief Minister's Vigilance Cell case. Sherman Ali is an Indian politician and a member of the Congress Party. Ali was elected as an MLA from Bahagbar constituency in the 2011 Assam Legislative Assembly election as a candidate of the All India United Democratic Front. A special court today agreed on Thursday, October 28, on the bail plea of ​​suspended Congress MLA Sharman Ali, subject to certain conditions. Earlier on Tuesday, the Gauhati High Court had rejected the MLA's bail plea in respect of cases registered against him at Panbazar and Geetanagar police stations.

Sherman Ali was in the custody of the Chief Ministers' Special Vigilance Cell on charges of being linked to the MLA fund embezzlement crime. He was arrested by the Vigilance Cell for misappropriating and stealing money from the MLA fund. He was produced before the Gauhati High Court for hearing the case and then sentenced to five days' custody under the CM Vigilance Cell. But when the Vigilance Cell informed the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court (CJM) that Sherman Ali no longer needed his custody, he was sentenced to judicial custody.

Earlier in September, Sherman Ali became controversial for his controversial statement on eight youths from Assam, who were brutally killed during the Assam agitation in February 1983.
