Bhopal: Singrauli and Chhindwara Municipal Corporation are said to be at the forefront of Madhya Pradesh's cleanliness rankings. In fact, this ranking was only for cities with a population of fewer than 10 lakhs. Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ujjain were not included in the list. Singrauli got two points and Chhindwara got the highest marks in one category in this ranking. Similarly, when it comes to municipalities, Pandhurna, Pithampur, Narsinghpur, Khachroud got the first position in different categories.

At the same time, when it comes to city councils, Sailana has been the best in two and Shahganj in one category. Let me tell all of you that in order to bring better results in the Swachh Sarvekshan of the country, the State Government has started ranking in three categories. These categories include Fecal Slas Treatment Plant (FTP), Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Composting Unit. In this case, the bodies will be ranked every three months. Let me tell you that it examines the infrastructure created for cleanliness and gives marks. Last Thursday, Urban Administration Minister Bhupinder Singh announced the results of the 'Foundation of Cleanliness' campaign.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bhupinder Singh said that "priority will be considered in the promotion to the officers and employees of the body which has ranked well in Swachh Sarvekshan as well as other development works.'' At the same time, he warned that "the function of the body is not just cleanliness. We have to pay attention to other things also. There will also be changes in bodies that do not do well. From now on, only state-level rankings will be given, not division level.''
