Shimla: The Cabinet is scheduled to meet in Himachal Pradesh on Friday. A number of public-related proposals can be decided at this meeting. Schools are to be opened in the state from September 25 onwards. This decision will also be taken in today's meeting itself. The meeting will be held at the state secretariat led by CM Jairam Thakur. The government has just closed schools till September 25.

It is likely that students of class 9th to 12th may be called to schools from September 27. A proposal has also been sent by the Education Department to invite students of classes V and VIII to the school. A micro plan has been prepared on how to protect school students from the corona. That will also be placed before the government in the meeting. It plans to call students at 50 per cent of a class capacity. The meeting is expected to decide to recruit 8000 multi-task workers in the education department. The recruitment is planned to be filled up through committees headed by SDM based on half the post and the other half applications on the recommendation of CM Thakur.

The government may also change the policy of transferring C&V and JBT to home districts. Now, after 13 years, there is a plan to transfer JBT and C&V teachers serving in other districts to their home districts. The government may reduce this time period. The meeting will also approve the CM's budget announcement of an increase of Rs 500 in honorarium for computer teachers appointed in government schools.
