Swara Bhaskar speaking about the current status of bollywood said, “There’s an atmosphere of fear. This is an industry—there is this idea of not engaging in controversy. There is a genuine belief that the industry has, that if there’s a controversy happening, it’s best not to bother about it.”
The actress further added, “So, even when they’re attacked, they don’t say anything. You can say a lot of things about Karan Johar, you can think his films are terrible and have issues with nepotism, but your dislike doesn’t mean that he is a murderer.” Swara said that trolls are nothing but paid bots. “I know because many of them have come to me and made this offer. You hire people to do digital marketing.”
Earlier the actress also speaking about Akshay Kumar said, “We are storytellers and should tell stories in an honest way. I think Bollywood should not make itself a platform for propaganda. Having said that Bollywood is not one tangible, homogenous entity and there could never be one voice coming out of the industry. And that’s the beauty of it… I don’t agree with Akshay Kumar because of the kind of films he supports but that doesn’t mean I want his films to flop or that he shouldn’t release his films.”
Swara was last seen in filmmaker Kamal Pandey’s film “Jahan Chaar Yaar” was released on Friday (September 16, 2022), however, neither the viewership nor the ratings on IMDb would have excited the film’s makers. The IMDb rating of the movie is 1.1, making it one of the worst films of all time.
