New Delhi: Today all 250 elected councilors have taken oath in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. It was expected that the mayor's election was going to be held today but again the election was postponed. Before this, slogans of Jai Shri Ram kept echoing during the swearing-in. Meanwhile, a Muslim woman councilor of the Aam Aadmi Party lodged an objection to raising slogans of 'Jai Shri Ram' while taking the oath. She has said that those who are raising slogans of "Jai Shri Ram", please do not forget Sita Maiya. I am in UP, we also take the name of Sita Maa along with Ram ji. However, even after this, BJP councilors have been raising slogans of Jai Shri Ram. The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded Shelly Oberoi for the post of mayor. While BJP has given Rekha Gupta. Along with this, BJP has nominated Kamal Bagdi for the post of Deputy Mayor and AAP has also nominated Aale Muhammad Iqbal.

In view of the possibility of uproar in the House, strict security arrangements have been made. On this, AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj also accused the deployment of para forces inside the house. He has said that para forces should not be allowed to enter the house. He questioned how weapons could be allowed inside the House. The Center is also trying to hijack this process. On the other hand, it has been said by the MCD that the para forces have not been deployed inside the house but in the corridor. Civil Defense Volunteers have also been deployed. At the same time, Delhi Police personnel have been deployed outside the House for security. 

The slogan of Bageshwar Dham echoed during the swearing-in ceremony of the councilors in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. BJP councilor Ram Kishore Sharma from ward number 202 also chanted Bageshwar Dham after taking the oath.
