New Delhi: With the rapid increase in Corona infection cases across the country, the Narendra Modi government at the Center has decided to extend the lockdown till May 31. Along with this, it is reported that two big companies that do online food delivery in the country have decided to lay off a large number of employees.

According to the information received, the food delivery company Swiggy has said on Monday that the company will lay off about 1100 employees of various departments working here. Let us tell you that out of the total employees working here, this company has decided to show 14 percent of its staff out. The company says that their business has suffered heavily due to the corona epidemic, so it is necessary to take this decision to reduce the cost.

As per NDTV's report, the company sent an email to its employees on 18 May, in which the company wrote, "Today is one of the saddest days for Swiggy as we have to go through an unfortunate action." He also said that the company had already started temporarily or permanently shutting down its kitchen facilities since the outbreak of the Corona epidemic. Now we have to expel our 1100 employees in the coming days.
