New Delhi: India has achieved great success in the fight against black money. Switzerland has handed over the second list of Indian account holders in Swiss to India. India has received this information under the agreement on the automatic exchange of information with Switzerland. This can be seen as a major achievement in the government's fight against black money.

India ranks among the 86 countries with which the Federal Tax Administration of Switzerland (FTA) has shared bank accounts information within the global standards framework on EOI this year. India received the first set of details from Switzerland in September 2019 under the automatic exchange of information (EOI). At that time, 75 countries were involved. The FTA said on Friday that the exchange of information this year includes 31 million financial accounts. Almost as many accounts were reported in the year 2019.

Although the statement did not separately mention India's name among the 86 countries, officials said, India is among the major countries with which Switzerland has shared information about the financial accounts of Swiss banks' customers and other economic institutions. Officials further said that Switzerland, with 86 countries this year, has shared information about more than 3 million financial accounts and has a "large number" of Indian nationals and entities.
