The All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Praful Patel said on Friday that the Under-17 Women's World Cup Local Organizing Committee (LOC) is in talks with FIFA on the new dates of the tournament. It was supposed to be in India in November but FIFA decided to postpone it due to the threat of coronavirus.

Patel said in a tweet, "I am happy to say that together with FIFA, we are discussing about the Women's Under-17 World Cup at the earliest. LOC and FIFA are discussing the new dates of the tournament." He said, "We are also discussing with FIFA to keep age criteria as per schedule for the Women's World Cup so that all those players who have worked hard for this tournament can participate in it."

The FIFA Women's U-17 World Cup was scheduled to be held in Navi Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati from November 2 to 21. 16 teams including host India were to participate in this tournament. For the first time, it was being organized in India. Sports activities are stalled all over the world due to Coronavirus.
