R. Parthiepan, a Tamil actor-filmmaker, is the latest in a long line of Indian artists and film personalities to be granted a Golden Visa by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Officials from the UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship honoured the National Award-winning filmmaker with the prestigious award. Parthiepan thanked the Dubai government for granting him the visa. Mohanlal and Mammootty from Malayalam cinema, Tovino Thomas from 'Minnal Murali,' and Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Boney Kapoor, Farah Khan, Suniel Shetty, and Tusshar Kapoor from Bollywood have all received the Golden Visa in the past.
Parthiepan, speaking from Dubai, said: "I'm overjoyed that I've been granted the Golden Visa. The UAE government has my heartfelt gratitude. I am profoundly honoured, and I appreciate the authorities for thinking me deserving of this honour."
The UAE Golden Visa is a long-term resident visa that is automatically renewed and lasts for five to ten years. It is given to high performers in a variety of fields, as well as professionals, investors, and individuals with promising potential.
Parthiepan is now working on the Hindi remake of 'Oththa Seruppu Size 7', for which he just got the Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards. He's also working on a Tamil film called 'Iravin Nizhal.' A.R. Rahman composed the music for 'Iravin Nizhal,' the first single-shot film of its sort.
