Chennai: Coronavirus cases are continuously increasing in the country. Due to which the number of patients has reached around 1800. Even after so many cases, no medicine of this epidemic has been revealed yet, but efforts are being made by the governments to stop it. 110 new cases of corona infection have been reported in Tamil Nadu, taking the total number to 234.

Tirupur District Collector has launched a different type of Corona Disinfection Tunnel in the Uzhwar Santhai area of Thennampalayam to prevent infection of corona. This is the first disinfection tunnel of its kind in the state. It is placed at the beginning of the vegetable market. People have to go through this tunnel for about 3-5 seconds to go to the market. Whenever someone comes to the market, he will first have to go through this tunnel, in a distance of 3 to 4 seconds, the person will be sprayed with sanitizer, only then he can go to the market. He informed that the district administration has prepared this tunnel in collaboration with Youth Indian Youth Federation of Confederation of Indian Industry.

People will walk within the tunnel for three to five seconds to go to the market, meanwhile two sets of three nozzles in the tunnel will sprinkle 1 percent sodium hypochlorite solution at 1 ppm (per million parts). It is capable of killing viruses. Cleaning workers and the public have been advised to raise their hands with their palms facing the front while entering the tunnel to ensure disinfection. Hands have to be washed before entering the tunnel. 90 thousand has been spent to build this tunnel.
