Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has set up a 13-member MLA advisory committee to deal with the corona epidemic, which will be headed by CM MK Stalin himself. This committee consists of assembly members. Former Health Minister C Vijaybhaskar, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MLA N Azilan and GK Mani of Patali Makkal Kachi (PMK) are some of the main members of the committee. It was decided to set up the committee at a meeting of all party MLA leaders held at the Secretariat on May 13.

In Tamil Nadu, 33,181 new corona cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. During this period, 21,317 people were discharged and 311 people lost their lives. There are currently 2,19,342 active cases of corona infection in the state. According to reports, the number of people recovered so far from corona infection in Tamil Nadu has gone up to 13,61,204. Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 17,670. Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government on Sunday directed officials to ensure easy immunization drive for persons with disabilities.

An official release issued by the state government said that the vaccination drive has been asked to create favourable facilities for persons with disabilities. Under this, ramps, a separate queue and special camps will be set up as per requirement to reach the immunization centre for persons with disabilities.
