CHENNAI : The Airport authorities of the 4 international airports in Tamil Nadu have directed the airline entitie operating from Singapore to ensure that the passengers carry a valid RT-PCR negative certificate.

This comes after two Singaporean travellers with invalid RT-PCR negative certificates arrived at the Tiruchi airport on Sunday.

The authorities found that one person was carrying an outdated RT-PCR negative certificate while the other was carrying an invalid certificate, according to a senior officer from the Tiruchi international airport. The two passengers' swab samples were immediately collected by the authorities.

If the samples test positive for Covid-19, the department will notify the airport authorities, take additional steps to isolate the persons, and track down their primary and secondary contacts.

According to a travel warning issued by the Indian government, people entering India from places including China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and Thailand must have a current RT-PCR negative certificate. This is in response to the recent increase in Covid-19 cases in these nations.

All airlines flying out of these nations have been instructed by Tamil Nadu's four international airports in Chennai, Tiruchirapalli, Coimbatore, and Madurai to make sure that every passenger has a valid RT-PCR negative certificate, as required by the Indian government.
