CHENNAI: Udayanidhi Stalin, the DMK's youth wing leader and son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, is expected to join the state cabinet as a minister in the first week of June. According to DMK sources, the party is discussing making the first-time MLA a minister.

the DMK state organising secretary and Rajya Sabha member R.S. Bharathi said, "Udayanidhi Stalin is a great crowd puller, and demand has come from across the state to make him a minister. The DMK officials and cadres see the Karunanidhi family as the first family of Tamil Nadu, and whenever Udayanidhi enters the Assembly session, party MLAs rise from their seats to greet him.

According to the DMK leaders, the young leader, who is a great orator, has good leadership talents and the probability of him becoming a minister in the first week of June is almost inevitable. Because the Stalin cabinet includes about four first-time MLAs as ministers, Udayanidhi Stalin, a first-time MLA from Chepauk in Chennai, may not face any hindrance.

According to DMK leaders, the Chief Minister has already had conversations with close friends such as veteran leader S. Duraimurugan, Lok Sabha MP T.R. Baalu, and R.S. Bharathi to get their thoughts on making the young leader a minister in the cabinet. DMK source said that all of the party's senior officials have given their approval to the Chief Minister's appointment of Udayanidhi Stalin as a minister, and the swearing-in might take place as early as the first week of June.
