CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin asked Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana and other justices on Saturday to take social justice into account when appointing judges, setting up an apex court bench here, and using Tamil in the Madras High Court.
Stalin recommended that the Collegium ensure the idea of social justice in the appointment of High Court and Supreme Court justices during a foundation stone laying ceremony at the Madras High Court here. "I believe that the idea of inclusivity will be upheld in higher judiciary in this way," Stalin said. He also asked for the setting up of a Supreme Court bench in Chennai, and the use of Tamil, Tamil Nadu's official language, in the Madras High Court.
"Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh are among the four states that employ their official language in their respective High Courts. This is a long-overdue and essential request from the State's people and legal community "Stalin stated the following.
The Parliament, Assembly, and Judiciary should reflect the feelings of the people, and Ramana is doing just that, Stalin said. He stated that the state administration has issued directives for the establishment of commercial courts and is working to relocate municipal courts that are now operating out of rented buildings to their own facilities.
