Tamil Nadu Chief Minister demands special grant of 2000 crores in PM Modi video conferencing

New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing coronavirus epidemic in the country, PM Narendra Modi is talking with Chief Ministers of all states and union territories through video conferencing. Discussions are on in the meeting about the Corona crisis and lockdown and suggestions are being taken from the Chief Ministers. Earlier, on 27 April, the Prime Minister held discussions with all Chief Ministers through video conferencing.

In the meeting, CM Palaniswami of Tamil Nadu has asked PM Modi to allocate NHM funds soon and issue a special grant of Rs 2000 crore to Tamil Nadu. Along with this, he said that GST dues should also be released soon. On the other hand, West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee said that we as a state are trying our best to combat the virus. The center should not govern at this critical time. We are surrounded by international borders and other big states. We all face challenges in dealing with this. Mamta Banerjee further said that all states should be given equal importance and we should work together as Team India.

Earlier in his opening remarks, PM Modi reacted in relation to migrant laborers. He said that he understands the need of laborers to go home. He said that the challenge for us is not to allow the coronavirus to spread to the villages. Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman are also present in the 5th video conference meeting of PM Narendra Modi with the Chief Ministers.
