On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami indicated that the coronavirus lockdown released in the state could be lifted gradually. During this, he called for people's support to restore the lockdown.

In addition to ensuring his government's various steps to resume economic activity amid the outbreak of the virus, he termed the cooperation of the people as important during the lockdown. He said that people will have to increase cooperation towards the government only after that the lockdown can be withdrawn gradually.

The Chief Minister made this comment in the review meeting called to take stock of the Coronavirus prevention activities in the Secretariat. During this time, along with the district collectors, other officers were also present. Tamil Nadu is one of the worst affected states in the country with more than 8,000 cases of coronavirus. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address to the nation that the fourth phase of lockdown will be the first three. The steps will be very different. The third phase of lockdown is going to end on 17 May.
