Crime has increased considerably in the recent past. One of the locals made a video of the incident over the phone. And the video was forwarded to the Superintendent of Police and Child Welfare Officer.
The same person who was doing so under the influence of Sharab has been identified as Ramesh, 34. Ramesh's actions led to his wife Saranya leaving home two years ago and going to her parents. She took one daughter with her and left the other daughter with her grandparents. The couple has only two children. Neighbours said Ramesh has already had a dispute with several persons under the influence of alcohol, and on reaching home, he had started beating his daughter every day. The neighbours also tried to save the innocent several times after hearing his screams, but Ramesh would get down when he died.
In order to save the innocent from this daily torture, a neighbour made a video of Ramesh's daughter being slapped several pieces at the same time. He was also threatening to stop the daughter from shouting. The video of the incident was sent to SP S Mani and child welfare officer Arule Selvi. The police immediately took serious action on this. Within 30 minutes, a team of women police and other officers reached the spot.
