Court directs Tamil Nadu government to test Mental Health Center people of Covid19

Chennai: The Madras High Court has issued an order to the Government of Tamil Nadu on Thursday. Court asked the Tamil Nadu government to arrange COVID-19 examination for all the persons of Kilpauk Mental Health Center within a week. According to the information received recently, a Bench of Justice MM Sundaresh and Justice R Hemlata had applied for the Tamil Nadu Association for Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Caregivers. After this, orders have been issued in this regard.

The association had demanded for immediate COVID-19 test of all the persons of the institute. A cook working in the institute was infected. After that, corona infection was also found in two warden and three PG students. The petitioner said that the infection was also found in the director of the institute. Since then, everyone has been living separately in the house.

Apart from this, it is now being said that all 800 people should be tested as most are unable to tell about their symptoms. In this regard, the Madras High Court has given instructions to arrange for the covid-19 investigation.
