Congress leader S Jothimani, who has been re-elected for the Karur Lok Sabha seat, stated that the voters of Tamil Nadu have decisively opposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shown strong support for Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister.

"It is a clear verdict against Modi in Tamil Nadu and many other Indian states. The INDIA Alliance, led by the DMK in Tamil Nadu, has achieved a landslide victory. This vote reflects three key points: opposition to BJP and Modi, support for good governance in Tamil Nadu, and a desire to see Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister," Jothimani said. She emphasized that the country no longer wants Narendra Modi and the BJP.

In this election, the opposition INDIA bloc, under the leadership of the DMK, won all 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.

"This is a crucial moment for us to support the country, regardless of party affiliations. The verdict is clear and against Modi and the BJP. It is now the responsibility of the INDIA Alliance and other opposition parties to take strong steps to save the country. Hopefully, the INDIA Alliance will form the government," Jothimani added.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK leader MK Stalin traveled to Delhi on Wednesday for the INDIA bloc meeting scheduled later in the day. Stalin's DMK party secured 22 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu.

On Tuesday, Stalin hailed the INDIA bloc's performance as historic. "The success achieved by the INDIA coalition in overcoming BJP's money power, abuse of power, and media lobbying is enormous and historic," he said.

Both the BJP-led NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc are set to hold meetings on Wednesday to strategize their next political moves. The Election Commission completed the vote count for all 543 Lok Sabha constituencies, with the BJP winning 240 seats and the Congress 99.

The Union Cabinet is scheduled to meet today at around 11:30 am in Delhi. NDA leaders will gather at Prime Minister Modi's residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, at around 3:30 pm. Key leaders like Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu are expected to attend the NDA meeting. The INDIA bloc meeting is set to take place in the national capital at around 6 pm.
