These days, state governments across the country are trying to overcome the revenue shortage crisis. In such a situation, you must be aware that the expenditure on the control of the corona epidemic has become very high. Among all these, the Tamil Nadu government has taken a big step. Yes, here it has been said to give a gift to retired top bureaucrats (Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary rank included). On July 22, the present Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu K.K. Shanmugam officially wrote a letter to the retired chief secretaries of the state and retired additional chief secretaries.

It is being told that in this letter it has been written that 'the State Government has decided to give a domestic assistance allowance of Rs. 10,000 per month to retired Chief Secretaries and retired Additional Chief Secretaries'. In fact, this NMR (nominal muster role) simply means that the state government will bear the expenditure of Rs 1.20 lakh annually on the head of domestic help of retired top babus. Simultaneously, this payment will be raised by the Public Works Department of Tamil Nadu. Let us tell you that to avail this facility, retired top officers will have to write a letter to the Chief Engineer of PWD in Chennai. In that, they will have to write their Aadhar card and bank account information which will be kept as a domestic help under NMR. If any other person will be removed for this work, then it is important to inform the retired officer in time.

It is being told that PW department will make relevant entries in NMR register on receipt of letter from retired officers. After that he will ensure that 'the money is paid into the respective account before the 5th of every month'. With this, retired officers who are appointed on re-employment in any government sector or in statutory commissions, will always get this benefit. He will be able to claim the domestic help salary from the organization which has given him employment again. Apart from this, it has been said that the present Chief Secretary K.K. Shanmugam will soon be the beneficiary of this order. He is on a three-month extension of service. It has come in the government order that the payment of retired officers will be similar to the arrangement made in relation to retired judges of Madras High Court.
