Chennai: After many years of marriage, if there is no child, then there was tension between the husband and wife. The husband also had a habit of drinking alcohol. Due to this, the matter reached till divorce. During a New Year party, there was a dispute between the two, then the wife went to her maternal home. Fed up with this, the husband cut off his private part. This incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Washermanpet of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.

According to the police, there is a couple in the tsunami quarter named Babu (40) and Devi (35). This couple does not have any children and both used to fight often on this matter. Devi also did not like her husband Babu's habit of drinking alcohol. She wanted to get a divorce from Babu and after a dispute on Monday, she left home and went to her maternal home. However, she returned on Tuesday for New Year Celebration. Meanwhile, a dispute between the two started over Babu's drinking. She again went to her mother's house.

After the dispute, the wife returned to her maternal home and due to this the husband become so upset and angry that he took a terrible step. Saddened by this behavior of his wife, Babu went to the kitchen and cut his private part with a knife. Hearing his scream, neighbors rushed and admitted him to the government hospital for treatment, where his condition remains critical.
