Tata Altroz, Tata Motors' first premium hatchback, is set to be launched soon in the Indian market. The company has not disclosed any official date but is expected to launch the car in India in a few months. The company has launched the official teaser of this premium hatchback. In the teaser video, this car can be seen driving on the test track. Cars like Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glenza and Honda will rival the car in India.

The production of the car was noticed at the Ready Model Geneva Motor Show. This car has also been spotted in Camouflaged version India. Tata Altroz will get two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The base variants will be powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine with the Tata Tiago, which generates 85hp of power. The Altroz engine will generate a little more power than the Tiago. This is believed to be due to the weight of the Altroz because the weight of the Tiago is about 15 kilograms less than that of this premium hatchback.

The top variants of the Altroz will have a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with the Nexon and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. However, the power and torque output of both these engines in the Altroz ​will be lower than that of the Nexon. The 1.2-liter petrol engine is expected to come with 102hp power and 140Nm of torque output, while the Nexon produces 110hp and 170Nm of torque. The diesel engine is expected to come with 90hp power, which will be 20hp lower than the Nexon. The Altroz is believed to be the most powerful in the segment despite the low power output being the coldest. Tata Altroz weighs about 200 kg less than the company's Nexon SUV. The premium hatchback will be launched in the second half of this year. The starting price may be in the market for sale up to Rs 5.5 lakh.
