Tata Motors, India's leading automotive manufacturer, has officially launched its fourth electric vehicle, the Tata Punch EV, today. The company claims that this electric SUV is the safest electric car in the country, featuring attractive looks and a powerful battery pack. The starting price for the Tata Punch EV is set at ₹10.99 lakh, going up to ₹14.99 lakh for the top variant (ex-showroom).

Bookings for the Tata Punch EV have already commenced, and interested customers can reserve their electric SUV by paying a token amount of ₹21,000 through the official website or authorized dealerships. The company has initiated test drives for the Punch EV, and deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 22, 2024.

Tata Motors has developed the Punch EV on the new Pure EV Architecture (acti.ev), which boasts several unique features. It incorporates multiple battery packs and provides various driving range options. The SUV comes in Long Range and Standard Range variants, offering 3 trims and 5 trims, respectively. Tata Motors is providing a 3.3 kW wallbox charger with the SUV, and it is available in both sunroof and non-sunroof options.

Design and Look:
Regarding the design and look of the new Punch EV, it closely resembles its internal combustion engine (ICE) models. However, the front features end-to-end LED lights, and the SUV comes in different variants with a special signature color. The vehicle is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its side profile.

Variants and Pricing:
The Tata Punch EV is available in two different battery packs – a 25 kWh pack providing a range of up to 315 kilometers on a single charge, and a Long Range version with a 35 kWh battery pack offering an impressive range of 421 kilometers. The Long Range variant generates 90 kW of power and 190 Nm of torque, while the Standard Range variant produces 60 kW of power and 114 Nm of torque.

Special Features of Different Variants:
Smart Variant: Features include LED headlamps, smart digital DRL, multi-mode regenerative electronic stability program (ESP), and 6 airbags.

Adventure Variant: Additional features include front fog lamps with cornering, Harman's 17.78 cm infotainment system, auto-hold with EPB (Long Range only), jeweled control knob (Long Range only), and a sunroof.

Empowered Variant: Comes with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, AQI display with air purifier, auto-fold ORVM, 17.78 cm digital display, SOS function, 26.03 cm infotainment system, dual-tone body.

Empowered+ Variant: Offers leather seats, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitor, ventilated front seats, Arcade.ev app suite, wireless phone charger, and a 26.03 cm digital cockpit.
